Biography Professor John Mylopoulos joined the Department of Computer Science in 1970, the year he received his Ph.D. from Princeton University. His research interests include information modeling techniques, covering notations, implementation techniques and applications, knowledge-based systems, semantic data models, information system design and requirements engineering. Dr. Mylopoulos is the recipient of the first Outstanding Services Award provided by the Canadian AI Society (CSCSI), a fellow of the American Association for AI (AAAI), and has served as elected president of the VLDB Endowment (1998-2003). He is co-editor of the Requirements Engineering Journal, and has contributed to the organization of major international conferences, most recently as general chair of the 30 th VLDB Conference (2004).
