Biography

Dr. Weiss is serving as the first Senior Fellow at the Knowledge Media Design Institute (KMDI). He was on the faculty of the Curriculum, Teaching and Learning Department at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE/UT). Dr. Weiss has served in a variety of positions with the American Educational Research Association (AERA) and has written for the association’s publications. He is the Founding Editor of Curriculum Inquiry, an international journal originally published by John Wiley and now by Blackwell. He is also t he senior author of a chapter, Toronto: A Case of a North American Regional Centre of Expertise to be published in Fall 2005 in Case Studies of Regional Centres of Expertise by the United Nations Press to commemorate the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development. He is the Senior Editor of The International Handbook of Virtual learning Environments , to be published by Springer in Fall 2005. He is currently in negotiations with several publishers to be Editor-in-Chief of The Encyclopedia of Learning .
