Biography

Nina Czegledy is a media artist, curator, and writer, who has collaborated on international projects, produced time-based and digital works, and participated in workshops, forums and festivals around the world. Current projects involve the Aurora Feast Public Art Project for Heureka, the Finnish Science Centre, Finland, Resonance, the Electromagnetic Bodies International Touring Project , and Digitized Bodies-Virtual Spectacles. These projects focus on the changing perception of the environment and the human body, and reflect Nina’s interest in art/science/technology. She has curated over 35 digital art/video programs presented in more than 25 countries. In 2005 Nina lectured at the 2 nd New Media Symposium (Beijing), ARCO2005 (Madrid), the Impact of Space on Society Conference (Budapest), Altered States CaiiA Conference (Plymouth, UK), UNESCO Digiart Network African Workshop (Linz), and the Refresh Forum (Banff, Alberta). Her presentations have led to numerous publications in books and journals in Europe, North and South America, and Asia. Nina is President of Critical Media, a Canadian Knowledge Institute, a member of the LEAuthors and the Leonardo SpaceArt Network., a Key Advisor to the African Network, part of the UNESCO DigiArts Portal, and a member of UNESCO’s Arab States DigiArts group as well as the UNESCO/ Leonardo Mediterrian Jasmin group. She is Chair of the Inter Society for the Electronic Arts (ISEA). As a KMDI Senior Fellow, Nina plans to continue her involvement in cross-cultural interdisciplinary collaborations in art, science and technology with a focus on space art as well as on the development of cultural databases and open archives.
